[~~This may be somewhat backdated to accomodate my laziness.~~ There is a rather hesitant looking girl talking herself in to coming inside the building. But she had... told Miss Penny she would ask for help if she needed it, hadn't she?]

[Penny is busy at the desk near the front of the center. She looks up and smiles as Anna enters, recognizing her from their... very brief conversation.]

Hello! You're Anna, right? What's up?

[Anna always looks rundown, like she's been pushing too hard and certainly not sleeping nearly enough. Both are very true.]

Hello, Miss Penny. I... [She almost wants to just say 'hello' again and leave it at that.] I was looking for somewhere to stay. Monsieur Rogers had suggested I speak to you.

[Anna's just the kind of person Penny wants to take care of the most (never mind that she works far too hard herself and sacrifices sleep, but it doesn't wear on her as it clearly does on Anna).]

You can definitely stay here, if you want. It's nothing fancy, but there're beds and a shower and three meals a day. There's always someone around, too, so the ticking never gets too bad.

[Penny's smile falters, but only a little.]

Are you okay, Anna?

[Her expression relaxes, somewhat, carefully side-steppng the question that she has been asked,]

I will be fine. I do not mind simple. We grew up, at an orphanage. [Even after all this time, she forgets that there is no 'we.'] I would be happy to help with things, here. I have been working, at the Blue Light, but I still have a great deal of time to fill.

I'm so sorry--about the orphanage thing. I was lucky... never had to go there. [But no one wants to talk about dead parents and childhoods feeling misplaced. Penny's smile comes back.]

You don't need to do anything to stay here, I promise. I mean, I definitely won't stop you from helping if you get bored, but you won't get kicked out or anything if you don't.

[Oh wow. Uhm. Anna does not have the fortitude to deal with this and looks a bit baffled for a moment.]

It's... It's fine. It was a long time ago.

[Cue strained not-quite-a-smile.]

I'd be happy to, thank you.

[Penny nods to acknowledge the statement without continuing the topic. Things to not talk about: traumatic pasts.]

And I'd be happy to have you here as long as you need. Can I show you to a bed you can have? Get you something to eat?

I would not object to a bed.

[Still not quite smiling, but always trying a bit pathetically to look like she is. Some attempts are better than others.]

Great! Then follow me, okay?

[Penny leads her into the back room, which has beds separated by dividers. There's not a lot of room, but there's some privacy and the beds are nice.]

Will this do?

[She nods. It isn't very private at all, but she... hopes she can handle it. She's had little by way of privacy for a long time, and truth be told she had gone to the woods in search of it.]

It's wonderful, thank you.

[She ducks her head quietly.]
